Minefield

Mozilla Firefox is the second most widely used web browser. Firefox is open-source software available for almost all operating systems.

This is the result of its popularity: if we compare Firefox with Internet Explorer, we can easily see that it is faster and uses less CPU and results in lower memory load.

Mozilla Minefield is the codename for the new version of Firefox - which is currently version 4.0 beta. It is developed by the Mozilla Foundation and can be downloaded from the official site.

Mozilla Minefield is really faster than the previous versions of Firefox. The new interface resembles the Google Chrome browser, but with transparency found in Windows 7. This browser has undergone the Acid test and yielded good results with JavaScript.

The final version is to be released in November 2010 and it might turn out a good rival to the Internet Explorer 9. I must say I couldn’t get the 64 bit Internet Explorer or Minefield to work with websites that contain Adobe Flash animations; it is probably because there isn’t a suitable plug-in yet.
